Candidate for Mayor of Washington, D.C.

I am Anthony ADC Muhammad, a lifelong Washingtonian and a committed public servant with more than 30 years of service to the residents of the District of Columbia. I am running for Mayor of Washington, D.C. because our city deserves experienced, principled leadership that puts community first.

I have proudly served in the position as a  ANC Commissioner and Chairman, including leadership roles in ANCs 4B, 8A, and 8E, where I represented and advocated for constituents in my Single Member District and across Ward 8. Through strong relationships with District agencies, My commission to resolve community concerns efficiently and ensure residents’ voices were heard at every level of government.

Currently, serve as:

• President, 7th District MPD Citizens Advisory Council (DCAC)

• Minister to incarcerated individuals in the D.C. Jail and throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region

• Member, Ward 8 Council Against Domestic Violence & CRAV

• Barber ​instruction During my tenure as ANC Chairman and Commissioner, our commissions successfully:​

• Former Commissioner, D.C. Taxicab Commission

• From Board Member, Board of Architecture & Interior Design

• Delegate for President Barack Obama (2008)

• Approved permits for community use of public parks

• Ensured regular MPD attendance and accountability at ANC meetings

• Negotiated and supported Community Benefit Agreements (CBAs)

• Conducted interviews and reviews of liquor license applicants

• Issued grants to commission-approved community organizations

• Opposed projects that were not community-friendly

• Participated in the planning, design, and construction of the Entertainment and Sports Arena

• Introduced resolutions to the D.C. Council

• Provided recommendations to the Department of Buildings (DOB) and the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP),  District Department of Transportation DDOT,  Department of Public Work (DPW)

• Supported projects that directly benefited District residents

       I have provided testimony before the D.C. Council, Zoning Commission, Alcoholic                           Beverage Control Board, D.C. Housing Authority, Board of Architecture & Interior Design,              Cosmetology & Barber Board, and other District bodies—always advocating for fairness,            transparency, and community empowerment.

        Public service is not a title to me; it is a lifelong commitment.
